Product description

These classic indigo check cushion covers are made from 100% hand-woven cotton. We have worked with a number of women's groups in northern Thailand to create these beautiful products. The fabric has been woven and dyed by the Toobkam Women's Group. They use environmentally friendly methods in their artisan approach. The indigo used is natural dye from the indigo plant following the traditional fermentation method. Indigo is one of the most difficult colours to produce. Repeated dying is needed to achieve the blue colours. The wastes from the dying process are treated ecologically. The Thai government has approved Toobkam's waste management treatment as an ecological method.

The beautiful fabric has then been transformed into these check cushions by La-eard, another women's group in northern Thailand. They specialise in sewing. These high quality cushion covers are closed by an invisible zipper in blue. The inside is hemmed with blue tape to keep threads tidy. The cushion cover dimensions are 45 cm by 45 cm. We use a slightly bigger size of insert to ensure the cushion remains plump. Please note that these products are made by artisans. Some slight variation in colour, size and finish may therefore occur in the product range.

Note cushion cover only is supplied. No cushion is included.
