Product description

Hand crafted quandong necklaces. Each necklace is around 40cm in length.

Quandong trees are native to Central Australia, and produce fruits which each contain a large nut. These nuts are harvested by the artists themselves then painted with beautiful, intricate designs. The Quandong fruit is edible and highly nutritious, with twice the vitamin c of an orange.

Each of these necklaces are one of a kind; no two pieces are exactly the same. However we have grouped them into general colour/pattern categories:

-blue/yellow
-green
-purple/white

If you would like one necklace in particular that is pictured, please contact us and we will let you know if it is still available, and if not, endeavor to find you one as similar as possible.

About the seller

Tjanpi Desert Weavers is a dynamic social enterprise established in 1995 by the Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Women's Council. Tjanpi was created to enable women living in remote communities across the Central and Western Deserts to earn their own income from fibre art.
